"In engineering, every detail of the design matters. In ATV safety, it’s the difference between life and death."

  • JAMES DALEY

Meet the Author

James Daley spent almost four decades in the world of high-precision measurement and technology. As a retired metrologist, service engineer, and electronic technician, his career was built on the belief that there is no room for error when safety and accuracy are on the line. However, Jim never expected that his most critical work would come not from a laboratory, but from a place of deep personal loss. After losing his son, Benjamin, in a tragic ATV accident, James stepped away from the technical world to focus on a new, urgent necessity: child safety advocacy. Today, Jim uses his engineering discipline for detail and years of research to help other parents see the hidden dangers of ATVs—risks that are often overlooked until it is too late. He writes not out of a desire for authorship, but from a father’s duty to prevent another family from experiencing the same heartbreak. Now re-married and living in Webster, NY, Jim finds peace on the water, whether he is boating or fishing. When he isn't advocating for safety, he enjoys the quiet challenge of a chess match or playing his guitar.
